Courtesy of internet radio site 8tracks, a user going by the name of MCAforPresident has stitched together a series of playlists which trace the dawn of hip-hop right through to the current day. What’s more, they’re available to listen to for free. As you might expect from someone with such a username, the playlists include a whole load of esoteric gems and less heralded tracks, from the dawn of the Beastie Boys in 1995 right through to… erm, Afroman in 2000.
