Intermediate Computer-Aided Design Course
This course will introduce participants to advanced knowledge on three-dimensional (3D) modelling, sculpting, and simulation. Hobbyists, 3D printing enthusiasts, and individuals who are keen on design, product design, and intermediate CAD skills.
Entry Requirement
Strongly recommended for participants to have attended Beginner Computer-Aided Design Course.
Participants are expected to have basic CAD prior knowledge such as two-dimensional (2D) sketch and basic 3D modelling.
Certification
Participants will be awarded a certificate of completion upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.
For courses with formal assessment component, participants will be awarded the certification of completion upon passing the assessment. Otherwise, a certification of attendance will be issued instead upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.
Participants will be awarded a certificate of completion from Autodesk upon completion of course.
Participants will be awarded the Autodesk Certified User (ACU) Certification upon achieving a pass in the ACU exam.
Trainer's Profile
Ms. Angela Chng graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering. She has more than a decade of experience using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software in the industry. Prior to joining Republic Polytechnic (RP) as a lecturer in 2015, she was a Product Designer involved in creating machines for assembly and testing. She also worked on areas such as design, prototyping, assembly, testing, and marketing.
Mr. Chua Swee Cheng holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. Currently, he is a lecturer at Republic Polytechnic. Swee Cheng has several years of product design and development experience. He started his career as a product development engineer before moving into product design. He was involved in the design and development of various products, from household appliances to commercial items such as hand dryers. Swee Cheng had used computer-aided design software of different brands throughout his career.
Ms. Wendy Ang obtained her Masters of Science (Mechanical Engineering) and Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) degrees from Nanyang Technological University. She is a lecturer under the Diploma in Engineering Design with Business at Republic Polytechnic’s School of Engineering. She also manages and conducts classes for part-time diploma programmes related to Operations and Production Planning. In addition, Wendy teaches Continuing Education and Training courses on Design Thinking and Computer Aided Design. Her prior work experience as an Instrument Design Engineer at Emerson Process Management (Oil and Gas Applications) and Product Engineer at Cal-Comp Electronics (Printer Design) enables her to relate well to various applications of design in the industrial and consumer industry.
