Body Armor Lead Times Explained
Here at Bulletproof Zone, trust us when we say, "We understand you." That's why in this article, we'll give you a full, transparent look at how body armor lead times work and a complete rundown of what happens between the time you placed the order and the time it arrives at your doorstep. To get more news about bulletproof zone customer service, you can visit bulletproofboxs.com official website.
But alas, a demand surge and a pandemic combined with an intricate production process have produced a perfect storm causing longer lead times. It affected body armor vendors everywhere.
The demand for body armor has surged in the past few years. In some cases, it's due to active shooter cases and mass casualty events that have taken place at schools, churches, and other public places.
In others, it could be attributed to the fact that starting in 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic, the BLM riots and protests, and the U.S elections were all over the news, ordinary citizens began to take their safety more seriously.
You'd think with this, manufacturers would start securing even bigger supplies of raw materials in order to create more body armor to meet the demands, right? The short and not-so-sweet answer? No. Even the world's greatest body armor manufacturers produce a limited quantity of vests and plates to be sold to their clients and distributors each month, and for good reason.
Just like any other material with a chemical compound, the ones used to build it will eventually degrade. Add to this other factors like frequency of usage and exposure to UV rays or moisture, body armor has about 5 to 10 years of shelf life from the time it was made (20 years for steel plates).
Body armor is not cheap, so wouldn't you want to receive an armor that's freshly manufactured and that you can make the most use of?Another factor is the supply chain. The massive lockdowns brought about by the pandemic have severely impacted the global manufacturing operations.
Logistics, temporary business closures, and employees undergoing days and weeks of quarantine have extended lead times beyond what any company anticipated.Because of the life-saving purpose of these products, we and our partner suppliers refuse to compromise quality in the name of saving cost and cutting corners.
Once you place an order with us, you can rest assured that is processed immediately and entered into the production line.
The good news is we're optimistic we're almost at the tail end of this crisis, and manufacturing time has already shortened by a mile compared to how it was 2 years ago.
Unlocking Wireless Home Security Capabilities with Smart Locks
As homeowners around the world look for ways to streamline home access, security, and connectivity, smart door lock installations are on the rise. Smart door locks not only enhance home security, but also eliminate the hassle of losing or forgetting physical house keys. These locks can be operated and monitored from a smartphone, giving homeowners peace of mind no matter how far away they are from their home. Smart lock manufacturers are partnering with leading Internet of Things (IoT) technology and security providers, including Silicon Labs and Lockin, to further advance security with edge processing and improve overall reliability. To get more news about smart homes, you can visit securamsys.com official website.
Launched on April 19, Wyze Lock Bolt smart lock showcases the smart lock advancements that IoT technology enables. The new Lock Bolt allows users to unlock doors in less than a second using a fingerprint scanner. The Lock Bolt can be programmed to work with up to 50 authorized fingerprints, but users have the option to use a code to unlock the door as well. With Wyze Lock Bolt’s anti-peep technology, people don’t have to worry whether someone has watched them enter their code; users can add extra numbers before or after their code and the Lock Bolt will still unlock.
Wyze Lock Bolt smart door lock uses Silicon Labs’ EFR32MG21, a 2.4 GHz wireless SoC optimized for Zigbee applications, which features an integrated security subsystem and is designed to increase processing capability, improve RF performance, and lower active current. This increased processing capability is ideal for the Lock Bolt, since its data is processed at the edge rather than sent to the cloud.
Wyze Lock Bolt is secured with Lockin’s advanced security technology, which specializes in cutting-edge smart lock capabilities. Lockin incorporates standout data security performance and biometric technology with self-learning ability, so the Lock Bolt can achieve a fingerprint recognition speed of 0.5 seconds. The Lock Bolt is an industry leader in safety performance thanks to Lockin’s stable and reliable wireless communication, accurate, low-noise motor control technology, and full communication link data encryption technology.
It’s critical that smart door lock devices use advanced security technology to effectively secure homes. Wyze Lock Bolt is not connected to the cloud, and instead processes data on the hardware itself, which eliminates the possibility of data breaches as information is sent to and from the cloud. Hardware encryption is built into the Lock Bolt, meaning hackers would be unable to access or figure out codes or fingerprint data. Silicon Labs’ Zigbee SoC technology helps power this increased security processing capability at the edge.
As mobile technology is increasingly integrated into our daily lives, it also enhances the security of our smart home devices. Two-factor authentication within the Wyze mobile app ensures that only authorized users can use the smart lock. The Lock Bolt also includes an auto-lock timer, giving users peace of mind. Users can set an auto-lock timer in their Wyze app, and after that time has passed, Wyze Lock Bolt will automatically lock the door. With Bluetooth connection, app users can also access the history of who has locked and unlocked the door, create and store access codes for frequent users and guests, and set access schedules to only allow access to certain users at certain times.
While North America is currently the world's largest smart door lock market, demand for the technology is on the rise in other regions of the world including Europe and the Asia-Pacific. With the rapid growth of home automation, the wide scale adoption of smart home devices has been driving expansion of the global smart lock market. IoT-enabled sensors connecting mobile phones and other internet devices to smart locks makes remote access simpler, while integration of AI/ML and cloud computing continues to enhance the end-user experience. As solution developers and providers at the chip level continue to provide more advanced, secure innovations, smart locks will in turn become smarter, safer, and provide a seamless security experience for home owners.

Bulletproof Zone launches On-the-Go Bulletproof Protection following deadly school shooting in Texas
Bulletproof Zone, the leading online distributor of body armor and protective gear among law enforcement, military, and civilians since 2017, officially launches the ProtectVest, a light, simple, and easy-to-use bulletproof vest that anyone can put on in under 5 seconds. To get more news about green bulletproof vest, you can visit bulletproofboxs.com official website.
This, after seeing a massive increase in online traffic and sales when a Tiktok video for one of their bulletproof armor inserts went viral following the news of the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. The video, which was first posted on April 1, shows a woman explaining how to insert a bulletproof pad in a school backpack (her daughter's) and advising her to "place her back against the wall and use it as a shield" when caught in an emergency situation. The said video has reached 8.5m views, reflecting an increased urgency for quick and easy ballistic protection.
According to a new report from Grand View Research Inc., demand for body armor has been growing rapidly in recent years, with the global body armor market size expected to reach USD 3.53 billion by 2028.
From a business perspective, temporary upticks in body armor sales are usually expected in the industry after news headlines involving public disruptions, civil riots, and mass shootings break out.
"After the Uvalde shooting, sales for our backpack inserts and civilian body armor skyrocketed, making us reach our highest sale record since our inception 5 years ago," says Kevin Lim, CEO of Bulletproof Zone.
"What's different this time though - and a tragic wake-up call for us - is that majority of our customers are now concerned parents, teachers, private individuals, and ordinary civilians. Those who simply want protection for themselves and their loved ones," said Lim.
According to the company, the development of the ProtectVest began in 2020, around the time of the COVID-19 onset and the BLM riots, when there was a high demand for protective gear across the country.
Lim continued, "During that time, options were limited to hard armor plates and/or complicated vests and carriers which tend to be bulky and heavy, none of which everyday people could put on quickly or move around easily."The ProtectVest, designed with only the most vital features of a bulletproof vest, is a quick, easy-to-use protective gear made for the ordinary civilian.
With panel side indicators and velcro straps to fasten the vest, the wearer can quickly put on the vest, adjust the waist straps, and then escape or hide - saving precious time in an emergency or active shooting situation.
Weighing only 2.5 lbs and NIJ Level IIIA Certified, the standard body armor rating for protection against most handgun rounds up to a .44 magnum, the ProtectVest's slick and simple design also allows for easy storage anywhere -- home, office, vehicles, backpacks, and more.
Bay Area Ukrainian Community Sending Bulletproof Vests
“I need ammunition, not a ride,” said Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy. A quote that will go down in history. The Ukrainian community in the Bay Area is now heeding that call for help.To get more news about green bulletproof vest, you can visit bulletproofboxs.com official website.
But instead of supplying weapons, one group is sending shipments of bulletproof vests and combat helmets to protect civilian soldiers from Russian attacks.
“Our soldiers, our brave Ukrainian defenders of Europe, they will not die without anything on them,” said Mykyta Safronenko of San Mateo.
Safronenko is not an arms dealer. But he’s spent the last couple of weeks becoming an expert on buying and shipping bulletproof vests and helmets that can withstand ballistic attacks.“We know the price of freedom so we will fight until the last – it's better to die than to live under Russian occupation,” he said.
Safronenko runs the Ukrainian American Coordinating Council – a non-profit that was once focused on celebrating Ukrainian culture and is now zeroed-in on helping Ukrainian civilians fight off the Russian invasion. The council has raised more than $300,000 to buy military-grade helmets and vests, which can cost anywhere from $300 to $800 each. Buying them in bulk is one thing. But getting them to Ukraine is another.
“We work with our partners in the Ukrainian embassy in Poland and Polish government and they allow us to move it through the border and it comes to Lviv – on the western part of Ukraine,” said Safronenko.
It comes as Russian forces seized their first major Ukrainian city and the Russian army continues to bomb civilian targets.“I have to talk with Putin, the world has to talk with Putin, because there are no other ways to stop this war,” said Zelenskyy.
The help for Ukraine is pouring in. The Stanford-based non-profit Nova Ukraine is raising money to help refugee families.
While Safronenko anticipates Ukrainian refugees will soon be seeking asylum in the U.S., the life-or-death matter at hand is helping his countrymen gear up for battle.
Smart Home Access Control Growth And The Future Of Door Security
According to a survey conducted for the report, 61% of households now claim to own at least one smart home device or system. Energy monitors, home CCTV cameras, intruder alarms and smart door locks are the most popular, according to the report. All these functions, of course, have been available to businesses for years.Paradoxically, report data also questions how much consumers really know about their smarter home. A surprising 42% of those surveyed, for example, were unaware they could control a smart door lock from their phone. In fact, many leading smart door lock models offer this feature, delivered by Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and an app.To get more news about commercial safe locks, you can visit securamsys.com official website.
Despite a wealth of features offered by the latest smart door locks — remote and location-based locking/unlocking; voice activation; timed access; emailed entry alerts; and integration with smart camera and lighting systems — most people still have limited knowledge of their capabilities. Only 14% of survey respondents described themselves as “very familiar” with what a smart lock can do. Even though most of them probably use smart access control solutions at their workplace.
Monitoring and security are not the only drivers for smart home adoption. We humans also love convenience, and modern living presents us with problems that smart home technology can solve. Ironically, given the report’s findings, it takes a smartphone to really unlock the convenient possibilities of smarter living. The device that’s “always to hand” is central to the newest generation of smart door locks. If homeowners wish to remotely manage property access for friends and family, many smart door locks oblige. You let in guests remotely, send them a virtual digital key, or provide a temporary or single-use PIN to unlock the door.
It is just as easy to revoke a digital key, if you don’t want its owner to come around anymore. This is a significant improvement over sharing physical keys — or hiding one under the doormat. We cannot be totally sure where a metal key ends up and have no way to track or cancel it once it’s “out in the wild”. Commercial access control offers such functionality as standard, of course.
In addition, smart door locks offer more than just stand-alone operation and clever functions. In a domestic setting, magic happens when locks work in harmony with a home automation system, connected by protocols like Z-Wave, ZigBee or Wi-Fi.The smartphone is becoming a remote control for managing a connected life beyond just home (and even workplace) security. According to Accenture, the parcel delivery services market will grow by $343 billion by 2020. Just like home security, convenience is a major driver of change.
A recent PostNord pilot in Sweden aimed to remove the inconvenience of waiting home for a postal delivery. Selected customers of some major Scandinavian e-retailers could choose to have parcels delivered inside their front door, if it was equipped with a Yale smart door lock.
Home delivery is among potential smart services covered in “The Smart Door Locks Report 2018 ”. When asked whether the ability to receive parcels securely in a porch or lobby would make them more likely to invest in a smart door lock, 79% said it would.ASSA ABLOY research published in 2017 forecasts continued growth in the European vacation rentals sector (at 5.8% CAGR). Smart door locks are also making an impact here, at both ends of the market: for service providers — agents and homeowners — and for travelers.
A smart door lock is a convenient way for a landlord or agency to offer round-the-clock check-in and check-out, without creating extra work or staff costs. Both Intersoft, in Croatia, and Hoomvip in Spain have built vacation rentals management systems around an app and the ENTR® smart door lock. Agents issue, revoke, track and manage virtual keys for all their guests, saving everyone time and hassle. travelers use their phones and an app to unlock their apartment.

The expo has helped the New Zealand company to embark on the "fast track" of development in China, van den Hurk noted, as Theland is now even available in supermarkets in small counties in central and western China.
Data shows that more than 280 of the world's top 500 enterprises and industry giants will participate in this year's CIIE, with nearly 90 percent of the participants from last year also joining this year.
Will Song, global senior vice president and China chairman of Johnson & Johnson, said that over the last four years the company had brought dozens of debuts to the CIIE each year, and this year at the fifth expo, it will unveil about 40 debuts.
China's Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping said the CIIE has given full play to its role as a window for building a cooperation platform for those engaged both at home and abroad and has become a place for exhibitors to debut their new global products, cutting-edge technologies and innovative services.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Commerce, from 2018 to 2021, exhibitors at the four previous editions of the CIIE launched more than 1,500 new products, technologies and services, with an accumulated intended turnover exceeding 270 billion U.S. dollars.
"We felt that the CIIE is a very good opportunity to showcase what we can bring to China and to contribute our share to the further improvement of the healthcare system," said Felix Gutsche, President & CEO of Boehringer Ingelheim China.
Gutsche said that the CIIE provides a very good platform to meet, not only with other companies, but particularly with a lot of relevant authorities and stakeholders. "The expo also demonstrates China's sincere desire to share market opportunities with the world and reflects China's efforts to promote the recovery of the world economy," he said.
He noted that the company has benefitted from China's improving business environment, especially the registration process of new medicine, which allows it to launch new products much sooner in China than before, and the protection of intellectual property.
