Amber Heard isn't the most beautiful woman in the world

Perfection exists, but it is not embodied first and foremost by Amber Heard. The American actress apparently has one of the most beautiful faces in the world, but it is Bella Hadid who supposedly comes closest to perfection, contrary to what some media are reporting. To get more news about 国产成人精品男人的天堂, you can visit our official website.

According to certain (some might say outdated) scientific standards dating back to antiquity, it's possible to calculate the aesthetic perfection of a work of art, an object, a building, the natural world, and even human faces. Personality, charm and charisma are no help here, as physical perfection is a matter of pure science. And in this little game, it is Bella Hadid who wins. However, it is Amber Heard, third in the ranking, that the media have been focusing on in recent weeks, at a time when her trial with Johnny Depp had just ended.
Dr. Julian De Silva, a British plastic surgeon who heads the Centre for Advanced Facial Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery in London, is behind this ranking of the most beautiful women and men in the world. And there is nothing subjective about it, since it is based on the so-called golden ratio, also known as the golden section, golden mean or divine proportion, and designated by the Greek letter phi in honor of the Greek sculptor Phidias who used this principle to decorate the Parthenon, another symbol of perfection.

This golden ratio, which has fascinated people for centuries, and is the subject of a multitude of studies and publications, determines the ideal ratio between the parts and the whole. It is supposedly equal to 1.618033988... and is thought to be of considerable importance in the field of aesthetics. For some, anyway. Used in design, art and beauty, among other fields, this number supposedly helps identify the objects and faces with the most harmonious proportions (or not, as the case may be).

Bella Hadid and Robert Pattinson

According to Dr. Julian De Silva - whose calculations are based on this golden number, 12 facial proportions and some new technologies - Amber Heard is indeed one of the women obtaining a score closest to perfection, namely 91.85%. Not bad. But Bella Hadid and Beyoncé surpass this degree of aesthetic perfection with scores of 94.35% and 92.44%, respectively.

Note that this ranking is not new, and seems to make an appearance every year with certain variations (but identical scores). Back in 2016, the Daily Mail named Amber Heard the most beautiful face in the world with the same score of 91.85%, ahead of Kim Kardashian and Kate Moss, but three years later, the same United Kingdom newspaper put Bella Hadid on top, with this famous score of 94.35%, relegating Amber Heard to third place behind Beyoncé. There is, indeed, only one and the same ranking, which obviously remains relevant for several years, and the media's keenness to put the highly publicized Amber Heard in the spotlight does not change anything about that.

The Most Beautiful Girl In Cuba

A young woman's imprisonment in 1896 Havana becomes headline fodder for two American newspaper giants fueling U.S. involvement in Cuba's rebellion against brutal Spanish rule. But the story behind the headlines, as told by Chanel Cleeton in her new novel, The Most Beautiful Girl in Cuba, is an inspirational tale of courage, love, and losses for three unforgettable women. To get more news about 中文字幕在线精品视频站, you can visit our official website.

Cleeton selects her main characters deftly: The real-life Cuban revolutionary Evangelina Cisneros is the book's title character, joined by two fictional women, Grace Harrington, a newspaper reporter inspired by Nelly Bly, and Marina, the wife of a farmer's son ostracized by her wealthy family.

Harrington arrives in New York City in 1896, determined to follow in the footsteps of Nelly Bly by becoming a respected female reporter at one of the city's major newspapers. This ambition puts her in the middle of the circulation wars between William Randolph Hearst (New York Journal) and Joseph Pulitzer (New York World). The term "yellow journalism" - describing sensationalized and sometimes false coverage - was invented to describe Hearst and Pulitzer, but they also encouraged some solid news reporting. That's what Grace strives to accomplish, too. And while her lofty goals get complicated, Grace does eventually end up at Hearst's Journal.
Meanwhile, 18-year-old Cuban Evangelina Cisneros, who had joined her exiled rebel father in the Isle of Pines, is attacked by a Spanish colonel. But she ends up being arrested herself and sent to Havana's horrific jail for women, Casa de Recogidas. Here, her survival is tenuous, but she is strong-willed and stubbornly refuses to retract her accusation, even if it might mean her release.

And Marina is the daughter of the wealthy Perez family, married to Mateo, a farmer's son. As the conflict with Spain escalates, she is separated from her husband and eventually forced to leave their farm. Transported to Havana with her daughter and mother-in-law, she must fend for herself with little money, poor living conditions, and no way of knowing if her beloved husband is dead or alive.

History is complicated. War, politics, pain and suffering, and imprisonment - the possibility that a publishing tycoon would exploit all these factors to sell papers may seem unfathomable (or too familiar). But Cleeton breaks down the complexities of this era into a cohesive, compelling story that delivers some jaw-dropping historical facts.

I credit this to how Cleeton weaves together Grace's stark reporter's tale against the backdrop of Gilded Age New York City with Evangelina's transformation from the beautiful girl in the headlines to a woman dedicated to her country's freedom, and Marina's resourcefulness and sacrifices.

What Makes Someone 'Most Beautiful' Is Changing

In 1990, I was just a little kid, but my ideas of physical beauty were already beginning to take shape. I knew my mother, an Hispanic woman who then was about 40, was the most beautiful woman alive; my father, a short 50-year-old Jewish guy, was the most handsome man. But they were stark exceptions; I mainly idealized younger, blonde and perky-nosed celebrities like Michelle Pfeiffer, who graced the cover People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People In The World" issue that year.To get more news about 欧美成人性生免费看的, you can visit our official website.

Twenty-seven years later, People's curious tradition of ranking celebrity beauty continues, but as new research from JAMA Dermatology shows, the mag's criteria for its annual feature appears to have changed over time. 2017's edition of "The World's Most Beautiful" is an improvement on 1990's issue in that it is more diverse, allotting more coverage to people of color and to folks over 35 years old.

The differences between 1990 and today were not ones that the paper's co-author, Dr. Neelam Vashi, MD, assistant professor of dermatology at Boston University School of Medicine was anticipating. In fact, when she and her team embarked on the research, they were working with the hypothesis that beauty standards had not much changed.

"I thought it would be static - that diversity and aging would not be embraced much more now than then," says Vashi. "Perhaps because I run a cosmetic center, I just thought that things would have been relatively the same."

"Reportedly People has the largest audience of any American magazine and its annual ‘Most Beautiful' spread has been published for almost three decades," says Vashi." People did not return our request for comment.

"The exposure effect is a basic psychological idea: The more we are exposed to something, the more attracted to it we may become," says Dr. Niles. "As a society, we have become more aware of the need and the value of diversity, and I think it is safe to say there are more people of color in positions of cultural visibility across a wider range of platforms."

To be clear, it's not like people of color (POC) haven't been here and beautiful for the past bajillion years; it's that only recently is Hollywood recognizing POC in a significant way, and transmitting that recognition to the public. In 1990, American women with brown skin such as my mother (still a loyal People subscriber!) had very little representation. And I can see now how that must not have been easy for her. I remember when I was a teenager, she'd study my hands, marvel at my fair skin and tell me I looked like Winona Ryder.

"When I was a teenager, Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy were the women I emulated," said Garcia, now 39-years-old. "They were tall, lithe and had long flowing hair. I looked nothing like them. I was short, brown and hairy, with an overabundance of curves."

The Most Beautiful Girl in America

The 1921 Atlantic City Pageant's central event kicked off with the rolling chair parade, as hundreds of flower-bedecked floats and chairs rumbled, this time down the boardwalk, the thrumming main artery of the city. The floats advertised businesses, amusements, and civic organizations from the Rotary Club to the Press-Union Company, represented by a nine-foot-long copy of the Atlantic City Daily Press bearing a headline announcing the pageant. The neighboring town of Ventnor's procession stretched for an entire block, with the mayor leading, flanked by the police and fire departments. The beauties rolled too, flaunting their assets in the hope of winning one of the many prizes to be awarded at the crowning ceremony that evening. Wearing a gold-spangled dress and bronze-tinted shoes, Miss Washington, DC, Margaret Gorman bowed and smiled at hooting fans as children threw flowers in her path.To get more news about 免费人成在线观看视频播放, you can visit our official website.

The sixteen-year-old was already a star, having made a splash that morning in the beachfront Bathers' Revue, where she and the others marched unsteadily along a 1,300-foot swath of sand roped off and marked with flags. Gorman wore a modest taffeta swimsuit with a tiered skirt and dark knee-high stockings, drawing cheers for her "natty beach rig" and earning points as well, since public enthusiasm counted toward contestants' final scores. The others sported one- and two-piece suits, a few with skirts hanging to the knee, and one-Miss Pittsburgh-with pants that ended, shockingly, above mid-thigh.

They wore headbands to secure their hair in the wind, belts or scarves tied at the waist, and laced boots, flats, or low heels, posing for photos with feet splayed or even planted six inches apart, in contrast to the "pretty feet" stance prescribed in later years. Likewise, the compulsive smiling that later became a pageant hallmark wasn't yet reflexive. Photos capture the hopefuls looking variously amused, relaxed, bored, impatient, distracted, or downright stern-charmingly human, and more like the children most of them were than the women they were presumed to be.

And yet something scandalous was happening. The New York Times reported that during the Bathers' Revue, "the censor ban on bare knees and skintight bathing suits was suspended and thousands of spectators gasped as they applauded the girls, who were judged on their shapeliness and carriage, as well as beauty of face."

The exposure of bare knees wasn't just unusual; it was illegal. The city's 1907 Mackintosh Law prohibited swimwear that ended more than four inches above the knee without stockings rolled up over the thigh to bridge the difference. It was enforced by "beach cops" who trudged around commanding offenders to "Roll 'em up, sister." (Men, too, were required to cover their chests with tank tops.)

Bathing machines-mobile changing rooms wheeled into the surf to drop women in woolen dresses into the ocean unseen-had been retired at the turn of the century, and swimwear had since replaced streetwear at the beach. But there was still no consensus on appropriate fashion for women who now bathed-and increasingly swam-publicly. In 1907 the woman who invented the one-piece swimsuit, champion swimmer Annette Kellerman, had herself been arrested for indecency for wearing it on Revere Beach in Massachusetts. Designed for speed and intended to be paired with stockings instead of bloomers, it was braless, skirtless, and form-fitting-especially when wet, making it that much easier for this Australian powerhouse to break world records, and that much harder for Victorian holdouts to accept its contours.

Science says Jodie Comer is the most beautiful woman in the world

Move over JLo and co as Jodie Comer has been declared the most beautiful woman in the world, according to science. To get more news about 国产成人最新三级在线视, you can visit our official website.

The 29-year-old Killing Eve actor was found to be 94.52% accurate to the Golden Ratio of Beauty - also known as Phi - which measures physical perfection.

Her eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, chin, jaw and facial shape were measured and came closest to the ancient Greeks' notion of perfectly proportioned attributes.

While it may seem shallow to rate a person on their looks alone, the Golden Ratio is a mathematical equation first devised by the Greeks in an attempt to measure beauty.

The premise is that the closer the ratios of a face or body are to the number 1.618 (Phi), the more beautiful they become.Dune star Zendaya, 26, girlfriend of Spiderman's Tom Holland, came in second with 94.37%, while model Bella Hadid, 25, was third with 94.35%.

Singer Beyoncé, 41, crept into fourth with a face mapping score of 92.44%, but all were considered close to the perfect score of 100%.

The list was compiled using the latest computerised mapping techniques by Harley Street facial cosmetic surgeon Dr Julian De Silva, who uses the technology in his work.Commenting on the results Dr De Silva, who runs the Centre For Advanced Facial Cosmetic And Plastic Surgery in London, said: "Jodie Comer was the clear winner when all elements of the face were measured for physical perfection.

"She had the highest overall reading for the positioning of her nose and lips, with a score of 98.7%, which is only 1.3% away from being the perfect shape.

"Jodie also had the highest score for her nose width and length and she was near the top for the shape of her lips and the position of her eyes.

"The only element she was marked down for was her eyebrows which achieved an average score of 88%.

The South Korean Election's Gender Conflict and the Future of Women Voters

In January, South Korean presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yul pledged in a Facebook post to abolish South Korea's Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (MOGEF). The ministry, which in Korean is named the Ministry of Women and Family (Yeoseonggajokbu), largely provides family-based services, education, and social welfare for children. (The MOGEF budget comprises 0.2 percent of the total national budget, and less than 3 percent of its budget targets women's economic equality promotion.)To get more news about 色www视频永久免费, you can visit our official website.

Yoon, who represents the opposition People Power Party (PPP), the country's major conservative party, claimed that the Ministry failed to perform its gender equality function properly and has "treated men as potential criminals." Yoon tapped into a broader feeling among men and provided validation to anti-feminist groups. Many young men feel disadvantaged by government efforts for gender equality, which they claim provide preferential treatment to women. After his pledge to dissolve the ministry, Candidate Yoon received a boost in his polling figures-jumping over 6 percent from the week prior to take a slight lead over Lee Jae-myung, the candidate from the ruling progressive Democratic Party (DP).

Candidate Lee, meanwhile, did not defend the institution. Instead, he promoted a plan to reorganize MOGEF as the "Ministry of Equality and Family" (Pyeongdeunggajokbu). In November 2021, he told the Korean National Council of Women, "Just as you should not be discriminated against because you are a woman, it's also not right to be discriminated against because you are a man." Lee did stress he would introduce measures to close the gender wage gap (currently the widest among OECD countries), combat discrimination in hiring, and foster broader women's political participation.

This election has devolved to mudslinging and issue-baiting to capture younger voters-especially young male voters-who have risen as the election's swing bloc over the past year. Koreans have historically largely voted along ideological and regional lines. For the first time, younger voters have begun to split according to gender. Young Korean men by far prefer the conservative PPP, while young women voters prefer the DP (see figure 1).

Historically, neither progressive nor conservative parties in South Korea claim women voters as their base or place gender-based issues on their platform. This is quite surprising given Korean women's groups' historical successes in advancing women's rights, such as abolishing the patrilineal family registration system that governed citizenship and pushing through anti-discrimination and anti-domestic violence legislation in the 1990s and early 2000s.

But the reason for these past successes stems from their alliances with all political parties to pass individual policy reforms, rather than promoting an ideology of women's rights per se. As a result, lawmakers from political parties on the left and right have all introduced women's legislation on an ad hoc basis to cater to specific policy-oriented constituents, rather than picking up a broader women's issue platform.

During this election's primaries, a slew of sexual harassment scandals within the ruling DP has marred the Korean progressive establishment. In 2020, the Democratic mayors of Seoul and Busan, South Korea's second-largest city, resigned following sexual harassment allegations. The DP party leader apologized to the public but declined to investigate the matter. Progressive alternatives, such as the Justice Party, have also struggled with sexual harassment. In January 2021, its party leader was dismissed following allegations of sexual harassment.

South Korean women begin to resist intense beauty pressure

As she pursued her dream of becoming a fashion model, veering for years between extreme dieting and overeating, Park I Seul realized she had a problem: She was not tall and skinny, like typical runway models, nor was she big enough to be a plus-size model. To get more news about 成年人在线观看, you can visit our official website.

She also realized that the only way to meet South Korea's lofty beauty standards was for her to continuously deny who she truly is.

So Park, 25, began calling herself a "natural size model"--a nearly unheard of term in South Korea--which she defines as someone with the same kind of body you see in daily life, as opposed to a difficult-to-attain ideal. She began to get work, and she started a popular YouTube channel where she introduces fashions for women who look more like her than like the women in fashion magazines.

Her newfound positive view of her body makes her part of a growing movement by South Korean women to resist what they see as extreme pressure to look a certain way.

Hundreds of young women have taken to social media with the hashtag "talcorset," or take off the corset, to encourage others to free themselves from social stereotypes about their appearance that they feel have long bound them.

Park recently held what she called a "nondiscriminatory" fashion show in Seoul, where models varied in height and weight confidently strode across the stage. Other women have posted online photos or video clips showing themselves cutting their hair short, destroying their beauty products and going to school or work without makeup.

In South Korea, a woman weighing over 50 kilograms is considered by many to be chubby, regardless of how tall she is.

Park herself is 165 centimeters tall and weighs 62 kg, which she says puts her far from the minimum 170 cm and 40 to 48 kg weight that conventional fashion models have; she's also nowhere near the XL and above sizes demanded for plus-size models.

"I used to think that my fat body wasn't the real me and that living in such a body wasn't my real life. I kept denying myself. I believed that my life would only become happy after I lost weight," Park said. "I've come to think that I look good enough just the way I am."

South Korea is a deeply conservative country, and experts say its patriarchal society encourages rampant sexism. It had the largest gender pay gap among developed countries in 2017, according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and ranks 115th out of 149 nations in the World Economic Forum's global index of overall gender parity in 2018, among the lowest-ranking Group of 20 countries.

According to a 2018 survey by Saramin, a leading South Korean recruitment website, 57 percent of human resources managers at South Korean companies agreed that job applicants' appearances influenced their evaluations. The survey also showed that female applicants are more affected by their looks on their job evaluations than male applicants.

9 arrested after vicious assault on women in north China

Chinese authorities arrested nine people on suspicion of violently assaulting several women at a restaurant after surveillance footage of the attack sparked widespread outrage. To get more news about 国产精品国产三级国产专不, you can visit our official website.

Footage from a barbecue restaurant in Tangshan in northern Hebei province, time stamped 2:40 a.m. Friday, showed one of the men approaching a table where a party of four women were seated and placing his hand on a woman's back.

She rebuffed him several times before he flew into a rage and slapped her, prompting her to fight back. A brawl ensued, with a group of men entering the restaurant and brutally attacking the woman and her dining partners, including shoving them to the ground, kicking them and even throwing a chair at them.

Footage taken from outside the restaurant also showed the attackers dragging the woman who had rebuffed the man's advances out of the establishment and beating her viciously while most passersby and patrons looked on.Photographs of her lying on a stretcher, with a swollen and bloodied face, as well as footage of the attack, went viral online.

The assault and the public outcry renewed a conversation about misogyny and mistreatment of women in China. Earlier this year, a viral video of a woman being chained to a wall in a hut drew public backlash after authorities initially denied that she was a victim of human trafficking. She was later found to have been sold as a bride. The footage of what happened both inside and outside the restaurant was just under five minutes. The Weibo user who was among the first to post the videos said in a post that it was "heartbreaking" to watch.

"Does that mean that dining out is so unsafe now, do we have to bring men with us everywhere we go?" the post read. "(These men) are no different from thugs."

When reached, the user declined to reveal the source of the videos, stating that it was "inconvenient" to do so. By Sunday, the video of footage filmed inside the restaurant had garnered over 68 million views, while the footage showing the graphic assault outside the restaurant had been taken down.

Social media users have condemned the attack and criticized Tangshan police for being slow in arresting the suspects.

"I'm a woman, and I have a daughter," said one Weibo user with the handle BaobaomaoDaren. "I wonder - as I'm creating value for society and spreading positive energy, will this society protect me and my child?"
