Michael Burry Shares His View on Shiba Inu Token
Famous investor and founder of private investment firm Scion Asset Management, Michael Burry, commented on the shiba inu token (SHIB) Saturday after the dogecoin rival cryptocurrency surged 230% over the past week.
Burry is best known for being the first investor to foresee and profit from the U.S. subprime mortgage crisis that occurred between 2007 and 2010. He is profiled in “The Big Short,” a book by Michael Lewis about the mortgage crisis, which was made into a movie starring Christian Bale.

Commenting on this description, Burry wrote:
“Just saying, one quadrillion seconds is about 32 million years. One quadrillion days is 2.7 trillion years, or all of time, from the beginning of the UNIverse, multiplied by 71,000. In other words, pointless.”
However, several people quickly pointed out to Burry on Twitter that the circulating supply of SHIB is no longer one quadrillion. Coinbases market data shows that the circulating supply of the shiba inu token is currently 394.8 trillion coins.
The Shiba Token website explains: “Starting with a supply of 1 quadrillion, our founder, RYOSHI, locked 50% in Uniswap, then ‘burned’ the other half to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin for safekeeping.” The Shiba inu token made its way into the limelight when Buterin donated $1 billion worth of SHIB to Indias crypto covid relief fund.
At the time of writing, SHIB is up 235% over the past week and 6.76% over the past 24 hours, according to Coinbases data. The cryptocurrency is trading at $0.00002649 and its market cap is $10.3 billion.
Coinbase Pro announced the listing of shiba inu crypto in June. In September, the Nasdaq-listed crypto exchange announced that SHIB was available on Coinbase.com and in the Coinbase Android and iOS apps.
Burry has been warning about investing in cryptocurrencies. In June, he predicted the “mother of all crashes,” noting that “The problem with crypto, as in most things, is the leverage.”
The Big Short investor also cautioned that governments could squash competitors in the currency arena, including bitcoin. However, he clarified, “I dont hate BTC,” emphasizing that he is “not short BTC” because “In the short run anything is possible.”

We've got ourselves a bit of a kitchen sinker here; Da Vinci has thrown all sorts of features at this one. But even some of the basic specs are a tad elusive. For starters, while it makes a peak of 135 horsepower, putting it very much in the "fast electric" category, the company says it runs "a smart control system that seamlessly integrates multiple different motors." Who the what now? Multiple motors? A separate press release then states it's actually 137 horsepower, running through a hub motor.
Peak torque is listed at a ludicrous 850 Nm (627 lb-ft), but then hub motors often have wild torque specs; witness the outrageous Verge TS, with a hub motor that doesn't even need a middle in it to break 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft). The DC100 will sprint from 0-100 km/h in somewhere between 3-4 seconds, so crazy torque or no crazy torque, a well-ridden gixxer will still see it off at the lights.
Then there's the battery, a 17.7 kWh unit capable of 30-minute level 3 fast charging. That's a tad less battery than our old favorite, the Zero SR, in its latest model with a Power Tank kit in. At 18 kWh, the Zero offers 223 miles (359 km) of start-stop, slow-speed city riding, or just 112 miles (180 km) on the highway. Unless Da Vinci's managed a pretty impressive efficiency leap, we'd say a 250-mile range is highly optimistic.
In addition to a pretty full-color dash and lovely running gear from Brembo and Ohlins, this bike has plenty of electronic fruit in its bowl. Combined ABS braking and traction control for starters, but these are pretty standard. More interesting is the DC's "creep" feature, which starts the bike moving slowly forward when you release the brake lever – much like an automatic car. The new changes, as noted by WoWHead, include renaming the NPC Finkle Einhorn to Pip Quickwit, a change that was also applied to the corresponding card in Hearthstone. This change is another one made in rethinking the content and what might be considered unwelcoming or hostile to a wider group of players. Overall, the work seems to continue to be ongoing for Blizzard. World of Warcraft is a huge game, running for over two decades now. The changes to the game come in a time when Blizzard is under legal scrutiny for a number of reasons related to hostile work environments and discrimination, but at least in WoW, there's plenty of evidence of change already apparent.
