How to Wash Your Heated Clothing

After using your heated apparel repeatedly for hiking, cycling, riding your motorcycle, climbing, skiing, skating, horseback riding, or just while going out to get some pizza with your friends, the truth is that your heated clothes won’t stay clean forever. There comes that time when your favorite heated jacket needs to “take a shower”.Get more news about heated shirt, you can vist our website!

But you’ve got your doubts. You may be afraid that its heating elements will stop working if you give your jacket a “bath”. And besides, you’ve been told that cable circuits normally don’t get along with water (your hair dryer’s warning label gives you a warm reminder every time you use it).
Step 1: Disconnect and remove the battery from the zipper pocket.
This is one of the most important steps when it comes to making sure that your ORORO Heated Apparel stays safe. It’s extremely important that you remove your rechargeable battery from your apparel as it cannot be submerged in water (it will stop working). So make sure you’ve removed it before proceeding with the next steps.
Step 2: Make sure you put the connector cable back and close the zipper pocket.
You want to keep the power cable safe, so once you’ve removed the battery from your heated jacket or heated vest, you must put back the connector cable and close the zipper. This will protect it during the washing cycle.
Step 3: Place your jacket inside a mesh laundry bag.
The wiring of your heated gear is delicate and requires additional care. We recommend that you put it inside a mesh laundry bag.
Step 4: Machine-wash it.
No dry cleaning. Your heated jacket prefers being washed in the washing machine at home, than at the dry cleaner’s. That’s good news, ain’t that right? This can save you a few bucks. Even if you do want to dry-clean it, please don’t. It also prefers machines with no agitators in the center, but if that’s the one you’ve got the use of the mesh bag will be very helpful. You can even place it inside a pillowcase.
Cold and gentle cycle. You need to treat it with care. Make sure to set your machine to gentle cycle and wash it in cold water. Though you may not like cold showers your ORORO loves them!
Step 5: Dry it.
Do not wring or twist: We know you want it to dry quickly so you can use it as soon as possible, but squeezing or twisting it will damage the wiring
Line dry: Heated apparel doesn’t like drying machines and needs to be line-dried. Another alternative is to lay it flat on top of a towel. Just make sure that you turn it over to the other side every now and then so that both sides dry up.
Do not iron: You can prevent wrinkles by removing it from the washing machine as soon as possible.
How to store your heated clothing?
If you’re going to store your heated jacket, hoodie, or vest, make sure to keep it in a place where there’s ventilation and that’s not very humid. You don’t want it to get moldy. And remember that you need to keep your battery where the temperature is 77°F ± 2°F and also keep it away from moisture (we recommend relative humidity levels 60 ±15% RH).

So, that’s all! Now you can invite your favorite heated jacket or vest for a “bath” when you feel it’s necessary. You don’t need to wash it every time you wear it, but deep inside you, you’ll always know when it’s time for taking your ORORO out on a date with the washing machine.

The 9 Best Electric Screwdrivers of 2023

Electric screwdrivers fill the gap between power drills and manual screwdrivers. These handy cordless tools are lightweight, easy to use, and very convenient when you need to drive a lot of screws while assembling furniture, hanging artwork, tightening loose fasteners, or doing similar projects around your home. But Deane Biermeier, a licensed contractor, carpenter, and member of The Spruce’s Home Improvement Editorial Board, cautions, “Remember that an electric screwdriver isn’t a drill. Electric screwdrivers are excellent at reaching into confined spaces and installing or removing screws that require relatively little torque. While there are heavier-duty electric screwdrivers, these tools are generally intended for use on lighter tasks. Heavier use, such as driving long screws into wood without a pilot hole, is a job for a drill, not a screwdriver.”Get more news about power screwdrivers brushed motor, you can vist our website!

If you only need a screwdriver occasionally to drive one screw, then you don't need this tool. But if a screwdriver is a regular part of your day, week, or even month, then you'll find that the many features of the DEWALT DCF680N2 make it well worth the price. This is an 8-volt electric screwdriver that runs off a DEWALT MAX battery pack, which charges in less than an hour and stays charged for days, depending on how often you use it. But thanks to the battery charge status indicator, you'll never have to guess when it's time to recharge.

This reasonably priced cordless screwdriver is very basic, but if you merely need a tool for occasionally tightening loose screws around the house, hanging blinds, or similar tasks, this is a great option that's also easy to store, thanks to the pegboard hole at the end of the handle. You can turn off the tool and use it as a manual screwdriver, if desired. This screwdriver has an inline-grip handle and is comfortable to hold. At 6 volts and running off four AA batteries (included), you aren't getting a lot of power, but you don't need excessive force for the types of projects to which this tool is suited.

This 12-volt electric screwdriver might be compact in size, but it's definitely not short on power. It has 21 clutch settings for torque up to a whopping 265 inch-pounds, and it has two-speed settings: low is 0 to 350 rpm, and high is 0 to 1,300 rpm, making this a faster and more powerful cordless screwdriver than most others. It has a forward/reverse switch and a built-in work light. The shank is 1/4 inch, so you can use any 1/4-inch hex-based bits with the tool, although it comes with a flat-head and a Philips-head bit.

This compact, lightweight electric screwdriver is perfect for a wide range of DIY projects and household repairs. Its 4-volt battery recharges with a USB cord, and once charged, it runs for quite a while before needing another charge. The ergonomic handle is easy to hold, and the two-finger trigger gives you good control, making it easy to carry out even delicate tasks. The screwdriver does not have the adjustable speed or torque but provides up to 220 rpm of speed and 36 inch-pounds of torque.

Buying the perfect assemble-yourself bookcase, dresser, or cabinet can turn from exciting to exasperating once you discover how many screws are required to put the piece together. And the Allen wrenches typically included with flat-packed furniture are not easy to hold or turn. The solution to the problem is the BLACK+DECKER BCRTA601I Hexdriver, which has a patent-pending chuck designed to hold the Allen wrench that came with the furniture, letting you drive screws three times faster than if you just did it by hand. Plus, it's far more comfortable to hold and easier on your fingers. And, of course, you can also use the tool to drive regular screws; it comes with five screwdriver bits, including Philips, slotted, and square. It also includes a 4-mm hex wrench.

This isn't a cordless screwdriver for use in household tasks, but rather a precision screwdriver for use in repairing electronics, jewelry, eyeglasses, or other items with very tiny screws. The screwdriver itself is not much larger than an ink pen, at just a bit over 7 inches in length and a little more than 1/2 inch in diameter. The tool runs off a 350-mAh rechargeable battery and includes a USB cord for charging the battery when needed. An indicator light lets you know when the screwdriver is fully charged. It has a forward/reverse button and three built-in LED lights, which are very helpful when doing delicate work.

Most lower-powered electric screwdrivers either have no speed settings at all or only have a low/high-speed switch. More heavy-duty tools, however, often have a variable speed setting, which lets you tailor the speed to your needs—go fast when driving smaller screws, or slow it down when driving large screws that require more force. The Milwaukee 2401-22 is a professional-level tool, with a 12-volt battery that's compatible with other Milwaukee tools and up to 500 rpm of speed. There are 16 clutch settings for up to a powerful 175 inch-pounds of torque; not many screws are going to resist that kind of force.

New evaporative cooling system for more energy efficient data centres

According to a review article, evaporative cooling air-conditioning systems help improve the energy efficiency of data centres, measured using the Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) standard. Evaporative cooling air-conditioning technology can reduce the annual PUE of a data centre to below 1.25. [1] It should be noted that the signatories to the EU Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact must achieve an annual PUE target of 1.3 in cold climates and 1.4 in warm climates by January 1, 2025. Get more news about Evaporative Cooling System, you can vist our website!

There are two types of conventional evaporative cooling systems: direct evaporative cooling and indirect evaporative cooling. Direct evaporative cooling systems humidify and cool the air in data centres based on the following principle: outdoor air is introduced in the data centre where it comes into direct contact with water contained in a saturated porous medium. The water evaporates into the air, thereby lowering its temperature and increasing the humidity. [1, 2] The cooling system uses a portion of the server room return air to control the humidity level of the supply air and avoid the presence of condensation, which can affect IT equipment.
Indirect evaporative cooling systems provide cooling without humidification. In this case, the air used to cool the data centre first passes through a heat exchanger placed in an evaporatively cooled, enclosed space. [2]

Dew point indirect evaporative cooling

In recent years, a new type of indirect evaporative cooling system, known as the dew-point cooling, has emerged. It is based on the “Maisotsenko cycle (M-cycle)”, which was developed to reduce the supply air temperature compared with conventional indirect evaporative cooling systems. The M-cycle is able to cool the air below the wet bulb temperature (the limit for conventional evaporative cooling) and approach the dew-point temperature.

The dew point is the temperature at which dew forms (i.e. condensation). It is the temperature to which the air must be cooled at constant pressure to reach saturation (i.e. 100% relative humidity). Any further cooling produces condensation rather than lowering the air temperature.

A heat exchanger for dew-point cooling comprises several alternate wet and dry channels. In a dew point indirect evaporative cooling system, some of the primary outdoor air is allowed into the wet channel before entering the heat exchanger, so that the wet bulb temperature of this secondary air after cooling will be further reduced.

Dew point cooling system in a data centre

A team of researchers at the University of Hull, UK have developed a high-performance dew point cooling system that can produce cold air at a temperature below the wet bulb temperature of the inlet air.

The researchers tested their technology in Hull City Council’s data centre, using a 100kW cooling system. From early August to the end of October 2021, the system reduced the electricity consumption for cooling the building by 80%, saving the city council £149 ($200) per day, or £54,000 ($73,000) per year. The data centre’s carbon footprint has therefore been reduced by the equivalent of 82.5 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.

Foton to Present New Optical Switch

Go!Foton, a world leader in optical components and connectivity solutions for carriers and data centers, will display the company’s recently developed optical switch at this year’s OFC Conference and Exhibition. The conference takes place from March 6 to March 10 at the San Diego Convention Center.Get more news about Mechanical Optical Switch, you can vist our website!
According to Go!Foton CEO and President Dr. Simin Cai, the new device functions as an automated optical patch panel that switches ports by utilizing the basic mechanics of a step-motor driving two opposing discs, each containing a series of embedded connectors lined up with those of the facing disc. “With this innovation, we have replaced the complexity and power-dependency of mirror manipulation in favor of an efficient mechanical process,” Dr. Cai said.

“Leveraging the discs’ rotation symmetry by applying the principles of differential geometry and hypergeometric transformation has enabled us to minimize the cord entanglement that would have otherwise proven to be a showstopper for such a straightforward mechanical device,” explained CTO Dr. David Z. Chen. “And unlike MEMS switches, our design executes in 30-60 seconds fully passive latched terminations that are not subject to signal failure caused by electrical outages.”

Dr. Chen said that Go!Foton was motivated by the company’s need for a less complex, smaller-footprint switch than those already on the market for implementation in its PEACOC® based product family, and especially in its newly launched EKO™ intelligent networking platform. “And because we are vertically integrated and maintain all of the required competencies in-house, we were able to bring this project from farm to table in a very short period of time,” he added.

The Go!Foton optical switch accommodates twelve ports and sustains optical insertion loss of less than 0.3 dB for UPC and APC connectors. Dr. Chen added that the company is currently in the process of finalizing enhancements to manage both higher port counts and smaller form factor optical connectors.

Go!Foton will be demonstrating the new optical switch at Booth #3714 of the 2022 Optical Fiber Conference (OFC) taking place through March 10 at the San Diego Convention Center.

Zinc Stearate for Skin

Zinc stearate isn’t exactly one of those ingredients that rolls off the tongue. And it probably doesn’t ring a bell when you hear the name. But don’t let that fool you—this cosmetics ingredient is everywhere.Get more news about Zinc Stearate, you can vist our website!

Zinc stearate is a zinc salt made from a fatty acid called stearic acid,” explains board-certified dermatologist Blair Murphy-Rose, MD, FAAD. “It has been used as a binding agent in powdered cosmetics (like powders, blushes, and eyeshadows), as a thickening agent, and as a lubricant.”

We asked Murphy-Rose and board-certified dermatologist Whitney Bowe, MD, to explain why this ubiquitous ingredient is probably in some of your favorite products, plus exactly what it does.
What Is Zinc Stearate?
Zinc stearate is "basically the zinc salt of stearic acid, which is a long-chain fatty acid,” says Bowe. “Stearic acid is a waxy substance that can act as an emollient and an emulsifier, so it can make skin feel softer and can also help ingredients in a formulation mix together nicely so that the experience of applying that product is more elegant," she continues. "Zinc stearate, the zinc salt of stearic acid, can also help with hydration, and improve the texture of a cosmetic product, giving it more slip.”
Though the ingredient is common enough, it’s typically used as part of the equation in a formula—it isn’t the star of the ingredients list. “Overall, it’s a very safe ingredient, although I wouldn’t call it a superstar active ingredient that drives results,” Bowe says. “It’s safe to include in formulations to enhance the overall experience and help with creating a homogenous, elegant formulation. However, I wouldn’t look for this ingredient to deliver any dramatic improvements in the skin.”

Side Effects of Zinc Stearate
Although it is generally considered a safe ingredient, those with sensitive skin may want to tread carefully. “It has been questioned as an occupational hazard [specifically] as a respiratory hazard,” cautions Murphy-Rose.1 “Used in cosmetics, it has a low but possible risk of toxicity. It is also possible to be an environmental toxin. It may also be a skin irritant.”
How to Use It
Zinc stearate isn’t an ingredient you can find on the shelves solo; rather, it’s used in products that have been formulated with it. “I have most often seen it as an ingredient in cosmetic powders,” Murphy-Rose says. “It helps to prevent ingredients in powdered cosmetics from caking and it helps them to bind to the skin.”
If your skin tolerates zinc stearate well, it can be used daily, according to Murphy-Rose. However, she warns that because it is a water-repellant, it may not work well with water-based products.
This pick is Murphy-Rose's “all-time favorite powder bronzer.” Thanks to its blending powers, the matte bronzing powder will leave your skin looking naturally sun kissed. Whether you want a touch of color or a deep tan, the buildable bronzer will get you there.

“A nice mineral-based finishing powder,” according to Murphy-Rose, this completely sheer setting powder blurs pores and minimizes fine lines and wrinkles while helping your makeup go the distance. It doesn’t produce any flashback and feels weightless on the skin.

This iconic makeup artist's fave is "long-lasting and sticks well to the skin for an extended duration, and the colors are beautiful,” Murphy-Rose says. Available in a range of shades and finishes—shimmer, matte, or satin—this pressed powder blush is delightfully blendable and buildable. The micronized powder pigments feel super silky on the skin.

Inhalable hydrogel protects lungs from SARS-CoV-2

Mutations in SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, continue to produce new virus variants. Some of these mutations may confer resistance to the immunity induced by vaccines or prior SARS-CoV-2 infections. Thus, there is a need for strategies that could prevent infection by a range of SARS-CoV-2 variants.Get more news about factory direct sale medical hydrogel manufacturers, you can vist our website!

Physical barriers, such as the mucus lining of the airways, provide the first line of defense against infections. A research team led by Dr. Ke Cheng at North Carolina State University set out to develop a way to reinforce this mucus barrier. They described their method, which they dubbed spherical hydrogel inhalation for enhanced lung defense, or SHIELD, in Nature Materials on February 9, 2023.

SHIELD consists of an inhalable powder of fine particles, less than 5 μm across, made from an absorbent polymer. Upon contact with moisture, the particles absorb water, which causes them to swell. Within 10 minutes, they link with each other to form a hydrogel. Electron microscope imaging showed that mucus with SHIELD added formed a denser and stiffer gel, with smaller pores, than mucus alone. Virus-sized particles didn’t cross through this denser gel as easily as through ordinary mucus.

The team tested whether SHIELD could protect against virus infection in mice. They administered SHIELD to the mice via a dry powder inhaler and found that SHIELD coated the surfaces of the lower airway. They then exposed the mice to harmless viruses with spike proteins from different SARS-CoV-2 variants. SHIELD reduced the infection rate by 72-75% four hours after SHIELD administration. This declined to 15-18% after 24 hours as the gel was cleared from the mice.

Next, the researchers tested SHIELD in monkeys. The monkeys received a single dose of SHIELD 8 hours before exposure to either the original SARS-CoV-2 strain or the Delta variant. SHIELD-treated monkeys had 50- to 300-fold less virus than untreated animals. Lungs from treated monkeys also had reduced inflammation, viral pneumonia, and signs of damage.

SHIELD was created from food-grade materials, was not toxic to cells in culture, and did not affect normal lung function in mice after two weeks of daily dosing. It could be easily administered daily using a low-cost inhaler.

How interactive whiteboards took over
From blackboards in the 1800s to whiteboards in the 1960s, technological advancements enabled the creation of interactive whiteboards in the 1990s.Get more news about Hot Sale Smart Interactive Whiteboard, you can vist our website!

Xerox PARC invented the first interactive whiteboard in 1990, allowing people to directly connect their computers to a board while maintaining regular whiteboard capabilities. In 1991 the leading interactive whiteboard company, SMART Technologies, released its first product, the SMART Board. Initially, these boards were geared towards offices and small meetings. However, in the late 90s, interactive whiteboard companies adjusted the target consumers towards schools.

Thousands of schools across the world, including Carlmont, thought this new device would revolutionize education.

On paper, interactive whiteboards seemed like the real deal. Connecting a computer straight to the front of the classroom makes lesson planning much quicker and simpler. Teachers can immediately display notes on PowerPoint presentations without having to write them out during a lecture. But in reality, how would they perform?

“My first impression of the SMART Board was being terrified and confused, as I usually am over new technology, but as I gradually learned how to use it, I felt more comfortable with it. Pre-pandemic, I was using it every day in class, all day long,” said David Gomez, a history teacher at Carlmont.

SMART Boards came with steep learning curves for many teachers. Once they overcame this, interactive whiteboards began to show their worth. Along with simpler lesson planning, a study in 2009 showed an increase in student engagement, suggesting that it was easier for students to participate and made class more enjoyable.

“The pros of a SMART Board are the ability to access information and materials from online sources and display them in front of the class; particularly things which previously had to be photocopied and distributed,” Gomez said. “Students use it all the time for presentations and projects as well.”
In addition, interactive whiteboards help many students grasp concepts much quicker through increased engagement and visual learning. According to the International Institute for Science, Technology, and Education (IISTE), increased engagement stimulates thinking and leads to an increased personal understanding of concepts. Furthermore, according to the Social Science Research Network (SSRN), 65% of the population are visual learners, and SMART Boards can display high-resolution photos and graphics.

“I think SMART Boards are really helpful because it helps our teachers stay organized, which helps us learn better because we can clearly see and understand what they are teaching us,” said Saya Deshpande, a junior.

However, there are two significant drawbacks to SMART Boards. The first one is the price. Interactive whiteboards do not come cheap; they could cost anywhere from $700 to north of $3000. Installation coupled with maintenance could easily set back a school tens of thousands of dollars. The second drawback is the actual functionality of the boards. Interactive whiteboards quickly become outdated, but replacement is not an option because of the cost. Many of Carlmont’s SMART Boards are now over a decade old, which causes them to become defective, and writing on them becomes inconvenient. They often lag and are inaccurate, so teachers tend to write on adjacent whiteboards and only use the SMART Board as a projector.

New generation of EagleBurgmann pump seals

These can be used to seal, among other things, chemical pumps, water and waste water pumps, circulating pumps and submersible motor pumps in numerous industrial sectors. The eMG1 is 100% compatible with the well-known MG1 standard seal. EagleBurgmann says it has been innovated in detail and functionally expanded. A vastly reduced outer diameter of the bellows support now allows direct support by a retaining ring or with the use of much smaller spacer rings. The optimized bellows shape improves the automatic alignment of the bellows on the shaft and minimizes stick-slip effects.Get more news about Submersible Pump Seals, you can vist our website!

EagleBurgmann says the profiled PEEK-PTFE disk ensures consistent centering across the entire pressure operating range, exhibits good sliding properties and safeguards the automatic alignment of the elastomer bellows in operation through continuous self-cleaning. The eMG is identical in construction with the eMG1, but has a 20% shorter installation length. This provides manufacturers with new opportunities in pump construction: e.g., a more compact design due to shorter shafts with the associated material savings and increased efficiency.

EagleBurgmann says the rotating unit is space-saving. The computed pre-modelled bellows design and the spring assembly have no excess lengths and the outer diameter of the bellows support was reduced to a minimum.
