RUNNING TRACK MODE EXPANDS ACROSS EUROPE

Users can now use an Apple Watch to run on a track at last! Apple has enabled the previously released “running track mode” for more nations, including France, Spain, and the Netherlands. When you enter a track, Apple’s running track mode immediately recognises the lanes and track. It then clamps the GPS track and distances it to the track itself. Running in track mode typically produces GPS maps that are flawless, even down to the precise lane you ran in (regardless of the watchmaker). In addition, it typically provides a more constant running pace on the track (because track curves can be hard for GPS), and frequently provides extremely accurate lengths right down to the actual line itself.Get more news about high quality running track, you can vist our website!

Apple used Apple Maps data instead of a learning algorithm, which is how all other watch brands identify a running trail. This indicates that it is only accessible in the nations and territories that Apple specifically permits. As a result, this most recent round’s additions now include France, Spain, and the Netherlands.

The benefit of Apple’s method is that it begins to function as soon as you step onto the track (literally, as soon as you step onto the track surface it notices). This is in contrast to other firms that require you to do about two circuits before it “snaps” to that track. On the other hand, the drawback of Apple’s strategy is that it is severely constrained to just a small number of nations that Apple has activated when you consider the entire world. As many have discovered, when users try to run at four separate tracks, even in those nations where it is enabled, it might not find all of them.

One can argue that combining the two is actually the best course of action: For countries with access to maps, but a learning algorithm for all other nations. In fact, using that algorithm-based info, one could even create a database of tracks (particularly with companies like Garmin, which uploads all of its data to the Garmin Connect platform).
Anyhow, DC Rainmaker tried it out during the past couple of days. Nothing has changed from the time it was launched, albeit the most recent beta versions have a few more minor adjustments. It will ask you to select a lane as previously, and it even knows how many lanes you have per track.

APPLE RUNNING TRACK MODE
Apple’s Running Track Mode is a new feature that was introduced in watchOS 8, designed to provide runners with an enhanced running experience. The feature uses the built-in GPS on the Apple Watch to track the user’s running path and provides real-time data on their progress. This essay will discuss the benefits of Apple’s Running Track Mode and how it can help runners achieve their fitness goals.
1. ACCURATE DATA
One of the primary benefits of Running Track Mode is that it provides runners with accurate data on their running performance. This feature tracks the distance covered, pace, and time taken, allowing the runner to monitor their progress and make necessary adjustments. The data collected can also be viewed after the run to gain insights into areas where the runner needs to improve. The Apple Watch also provides audio feedback during the run. It alerts the runner when they have completed a certain distance or achieved a particular milestone. This feedback helps to keep the runner motivated and focused on their goals.
2. SET GOALS AND MONITOR PROGRESS
Another benefit of Running Track Mode is that it allows runners to set goals. They can also monitor their progress towards achieving them. The Apple Watch provides the option to set a target distance, pace, or time for the run. Once the target is set, the watch will track the progress and provide feedback. The feedback is on how close the runner is to achieving their goal. This feature is particularly useful for runners who are training for a specific event or trying to improve their performance.
3. RUNNING PATH
Running Track Mode also provides runners with a map of their running path. This can be helpful for those who like to explore new routes. The map shows the runner’s current location and the route they have taken. This makes it easier to navigate and avoid getting lost. The map can also be used to track progress and plan future runs. Runners can see which routes they have taken and where they need to go next.

4. STAY SAFE WHILE RUNNING
Finally, Running Track Mode can help runners stay safe while running. The feature includes an SOS function that can be activated by pressing/holding the side button on the Apple Watch. This function sends an alert to emergency services and shares the runner’s location with them. This feature can be especially useful for runners who run alone or in areas where there is limited phone coverage.

Smart laser cutter system detects different materials

With the addition of computers, laser cutters have rapidly become a relatively simple and powerful tool, with software controlling shiny machinery that can chop metals, woods, papers, and plastics. While this curious amalgam of materials feels encompassing, users still face difficulties distinguishing between stockpiles of visually similar materials, where the wrong stuff can make gooey messes, give off horrendous odors, or worse, spew out harmful chemicals.Get more news about laser cutting line, you can vist our website!

Addressing what might not be totally apparent to the naked eye, scientists from MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) came up with “SensiCut,” a smart material-sensing platform for laser cutters. In contrast to conventional, camera-based approaches that can easily misidentify materials, SensiCut uses a more nuanced fusion. It identifies materials using deep learning and an optical method called “speckle sensing,” a technique that uses a laser to sense a surface’s microstructure, enabled by just one image-sensing add-on.

A little assistance from SensiCut could go a long way — it could potentially protect users from hazardous waste, provide material-specific knowledge, suggest subtle cutting adjustments for better results, and even engrave various items like garments or phone cases that consist of multiple materials.

“By augmenting standard laser cutters with lensless image sensors, we can easily identify visually similar materials commonly found in workshops and reduce overall waste,” says Mustafa Doga Dogan, PhD candidate at MIT CSAIL. “We do this by leveraging a material’s micron-level surface structure, which is a unique characteristic even when visually similar to another type. Without that, you’d likely have to make an educated guess on the correct material name from a large database.” Beyond using cameras, sticker tags (like QR codes) have also been used on individual sheets to identify them. Which seems straightforward, however, during laser cutting, if the code is cut off from the main sheet, it can’t be identified for future uses. Also, if an incorrect tag is attached, the laser cutter will assume the wrong material type.

To successfully play a round of “what material is this,” the team trained SensiCut’s deep neural network on images of 30 different material types of over 38,000 images, where it could then differentiate between things like acrylic, foamboard, and styrene, and even provide further guidance on power and speed settings.

In one experiment, the team decided to build a face shield, which would require distinguishing between transparent materials from a workshop. The user would first select a design file in the interface, and then use the “pinpoint” function to get the laser moving to identify the material type at a point on the sheet. The laser interacts with the very tiny features of the surface and the rays are reflected off it, arriving at the pixels of the image sensor and producing a unique 2-D image. The system could then alert or flag the user that their sheet is polycarbonate, which means potentially highly toxic flames if cut by a laser.

The speckle imaging technique was used inside a laser cutter, with low-cost, off-the shelf-components, like a Raspberry Pi Zero microprocessor board. To make it compact, the team designed and 3-D printed a lightweight mechanical housing.

Beyond laser cutters, the team envisions a future where SensiCut’s sensing technology could eventually be integrated into other fabrication tools like 3-D printers. To capture additional nuances, they also plan to extend the system by adding thickness detection, a pertinent variable in material makeup.

Dogan wrote the paper alongside undergraduate researchers Steven Acevedo Colon and Varnika Sinha in MIT's Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Associate Professor Kaan Akşit of University College London, and MIT Professor Stefanie Mueller.

How to Crimp JST Connectors for 3D Printers

When I first started down the rabbit hole of 3D Printer upgrades, one of my earliest projects was installing a V6 hotend on the Anet A8. It came with a small, 30mm cooling fan and plenty of wiring length was included, but it didn’t have a plug for the board. This conundrum introduced me to the art of crimping my own JST Connectors.Get more news about jst connector production, you can vist our website!

Sure, there were perhaps better options on the table that would cost less upfront. I could just splice the new fan to the original fan’s wiring, or solder the wires to the board, but I prefer to keep my setup clean and professional.

After some Google research, it turned out almost every 3D Printer board uses JST Connectors, the XH series to be exact. Better yet, they are easy enough to make on demand. For a one off weekend project, this probably isn’t worth the expense of parts and tools. But for hobbyists doing frequent upgrades or those running home based printer farms, we can certainly benefit from crimping our own JST connectors as needed.
What are JST Connectors?
JST Connectors (Japanese Solderless Terminal) are an extensive family of electrical connectors, often used in hobbyist and consumer products. There are about 500 different types, and they are found in battery packs, RC electronics and in our case, 3D Printer circuit boards.
The most confusing aspect is their naming conventions, which have a range of suffixes like SH, VH and XH just to name a few. Each type has a different shape and spacing between pins, but they are also designed for use with different applications, intended for a specific wiring gauge, current and voltage.

JST-XH Connectors
The XH series of JST Connectors are a small, versatile crimp style connector that is rated for use up to 3 Amps on 22 AWG wiring. They are specifically made for wire to board connections, found on our cooling fans, stepper motors, endstops and so on.

This particular type is visually distinguished by (2) arrow looking prongs on the backside, which help secure it when plugged in. That helps maintain a good electrical connection during use, without any concern of loose plugs falling out.
1. Strip the Wire
If you’ve ever worked with wiring before, you’re probably already familiar with how to strip it. For those doing this for the first time, we’ll take a brief look at how to do it.
Since our wiring is insulated, we need to strip a bit off the end to expose the metal strands inside. These will be crimped inside of the JST connector, and when plugged in to the board, the metal to metal contact makes an electrical connection, providing power, ground or signal.

Using the wire strippers, insert about 3mm of wire in the teeth marked 22 AWG. Squeeze the handle grips together and then twist back and fourth, which helps cut through the insulation material. Pull back on the wire and this should strip away the coating, leaving you with bare wire strands to use.
2. Crimp Terminals
JST Connectors use a small metal crimp terminal for stranded wire, with 2 sets of wings that wrap around and grip it in place. When you buy a JST Connector Kit, these come as strips, designed to feed in to an industrial machine. For DIY purposes, we will just snap them off and crimp by hand.

When I first started out, I was using needle nose pliers to bend each wing in to place. In theory it’s doable, I even managed to make a few decent ones, but the sheer frustration of trying to fold tiny metal prongs around small AWG wiring left me beyond frustrated. This is one of those situations where it’s absolutely worth it to use the right tool for the job.
3. Connect Plugs
With our wiring crimped and ready to use, all we have left to do now is insert it into the JST connector plug.

JST Connectors Terminal Example
JST Connectors Assembled
Now, the back of our Crimp Terminal has a flared metal wing sticking out, this is what holds it in the JST Connector housing. The white female connector shell has slot openings on one side, and when inserted, the wing pops through and locks the wire in position.

Make sure to line up that flared wing with the slot, then go ahead and push it inside. As long as the Crimp Connector shape wasn’t damaged in the previous step, it should slide right in and sit securely in place. Gently tug on the wire to check that it’s snug, then repeat the process until your JST Connectors are finished.

Swedish snus can be as damaging to the fetus as smoking

While it is well known that smoking while pregnant can damage the fetus, the effects of using Swedish snus (oral moist snuff) have been more mooted. Now, a new thesis from Karolinska Institutet in Sweden shows that using snus while pregnant carries the same level of risk as smoking as regards to stillbirth, preterm birth, cleft lip and palate, and neonatal apnea. However, it pays off to quit using snus early in the pregnancy, before the first visit at the antenatal care, as doing so gives no observable increase in risk.Get more news about hot sale snus oem,you can vist our website!

Anna Gunnerbeck at Karolinska Institutet’s Department of Women’s and Children’s Health has recently defended her thesis on how the nicotine consumption of pregnant women affects their unborn babies. Cigarettes contain some 4,000 substances, while Swedish snus contains almost only nicotine. Basing research on women who use snus provides unique information about what kind of damage nicotine does to the fetus.

Her doctoral thesis is based on data from the National Board of Health and Welfare’s Medical Birth Register, which provides information on the health of mother and baby for effectively all pregnancies in Sweden from the point of entry into antenatal care to a month after birth.

Not a healthier alternative
Snus gives even higher doses of nicotine than cigarettes and can be taken more frequently. By charting the tobacco habits of pregnant women and the state of health of their babies, Anna Gunnerbeck’s research group found that using snus carried an equally high risk of stillbirth, preterm birth, cleft lip and palate and neonatal apnea.

“Snus is often promoted as a healthier alternative to smoking, and it may be for adult users,” says Dr Gunnerbeck. “But the nicotine in the snus can damage fetuses. Young women who start using snus are unaware of the risk they subject their unborn babies to when they use snus while pregnant.”

Important to reach out to young women
Anna Gunnerbeck's research also shows that the health risk to the fetus is significantly reduced if the mother stops using snus very early in her pregnancy.

“If you stop using snus as soon as you find out you’re pregnant, the risk of fetal damage doesn’t increase,” continues Dr Gunnerbeck. “So it’s important that we reach out with this health message to young people. Ideally before they start using tobacco, since the nicotine in snus, like that in cigarettes, is highly addictive and very hard to give up.”

Sweden is uniquely placed to study the effects of nicotine in pregnancy given that snus has been in widespread use here for such a long time. The results are, however, of global interest since e-cigarettes and nicotine patches are often marketed as healthy alternatives to smoking, and the use of the former is increasing in many countries.

Kw4a Household Appliances Induction Cooker Micro Switch Dongnan Professional

When flying aircraft with retractable gear, one of the greatest moments of anticipation occurs while you wait for those three little green lights to illuminate upon selecting gear down. I don't know what the GA rate of gear system failure is, but I have had five gear incidents in my 300 hours of retract time: One was in a certified plane, four in experimentals, three of which were in my 360. Only in the certified plane was there a true system failure, the others where all indication problems. The three incidents in my 360 where traced to the method by which the down and locked position is sensed by the micro switch on the main gear. To determine if the links have actually gone over center, one needs to detect the position of the two links relative to each other. On the 360, the micro switches monitor this only indirectly. They are positioned such that they measure the relative position of the upper over center links to the aircraft structure. Assuming the relative position of this link to the fuselage is always the same on all axes when the gear is down and locked, this approach would be quite adequate and simple to install. In our case, a roll pin in the link depresses the lever on the micro switch. The problem with this set-up lies in the fact that both ends are supported by bearings that allow rotation about a line drawn between the bearings. Rotation about this line, when the gear is down, will raise and lower the position of the roll pin relative to the micro switch. A large washer on the mounting bolt of the upper over center link is used to prevent this rotation or at least most of it. If you adjust your micro switches to trip only when the links are truly over center, not much movement is required to indicate an unsafe condition. This little bit of movement can occur by forcing the linkage to rotate as described above. The quickest remedy is to adjust the switches such that they activate a little earlier, possibly just before the links go over center. By doing this, any amount of pushing or pulling on the linkage will not be able to give a false unsafe condition. The draw back is that you get green lights while the gear is not yet locked. From a practical standpoint, if the gear has gone down 95% of the way to trip the switch a little early, chances are it will travel the remaining 5% and actually lock.Get more news about custom dongnan micro switch, you can vist our website!
For some time I toyed with the idea of mounting the switches in such a way that they could only activate when the links were truly over center, completely independent of the above effects. I like solutions that are inexpensive, simple to build, and reversible. That way if it doesn't work I haven't lost a lot of time or money and I can have my old parts back. The enclosed picture shows the
set-up I am now testing. It only requires an aluminum plate with four properly located holes and some hardware. I removed the levers from some spare
switches, essentially converting the switches to push button operation, and mounted them on the upper links using the aluminum plates. The actuator is an AN3 bolt, some washers and a nut installed in an existing hole in the lower link. This configuration only shows green when the links are truly over center. It is very precise and makes the locked indication completely independent of any movement or rotation of the linkage relative to the airframe when the gear is down. I have not removed the original switches or wiring, but instead added

Watt's Too Much? How Much You Can You Plug Into One Outlet

Living in a space with a limited number of outlets can force you to make some difficult choices. You might need to have the hairdryer plugged in, but you also need the electric razor, iron and space heater going, too. With just two receptacles to plug something into, you’ll have to decide which devices are the most important. Or, could you create a workaround with a surge protector or two?Get more news about Overload Protection Socket, you can vist our website!

An overloaded outlet places you at greater risk of a house fire, so knowing the safety principles behind maximum wattage capacities is important. The question remains: How many things can you plug into one outlet? We’ve got your answer below.

How Much Can a Single Outlet Handle?
How much you can plug into a single outlet depends on the circuit's capacity and how many outlets get their supply from the circuit. Unless you know the capacity of your home's circuits, it's safest to either assume that you have 15-amp circuits. Otherwise, you can call an electrician to check.

If you have an older home, the chances are that its electrical system wasn't designed to cope with the demands of multiple power-hungry modern appliances. In newer homes, electricians often install 20-amp circuits or higher to allow homeowners to add more appliances in the future without risking an overloaded outlet.
How Do You Know How Many Things You Can Plug Into One Outlet?
As a rule of thumb, it's safest to stick to a maximum load of 1,500 watts per outlet or circuit. The number of things you can plug into one outlet depends on the wattage of each device or appliance you want to plug in. You can determine the wattage by checking the plug label or manufacturer's instructions to calculate the total combined wattage per outlet.

Large appliances such as dishwashers, air conditioners and ovens typically exceed 1,000 watts on their own. Therefore, these appliances should have their own dedicated circuit, and you should avoid plugging anything else into the same outlet.
However, if your home's circuits have a higher amperage, The Spruce says you can use a straightforward principle called Ohm's Law to calculate their capacity. You'll need to know the amperage and voltage of your circuit to use Ohm's Law to figure out how much it can handle.

New Motorcycle Speaker Company Launches

The first Gale Force products, which started shipping in February, are two competition grade marine speakers that are being used mainly in motorcycles.Get more news about motorcycle speaker production, you can vist our website!

“We started out as a marine line, but it’s developed more into powersports. The motorcycle industry has gone bananas. It’s something I truly didn’t expect.” About 60 to 70 percent of Gale Force’s sales are for motorcycle installs.

The startup’s speakers are high powered pro audio style coaxials with a compression horn and glass fiber cone. Launched in February, the F3 line (named after the tornado rating) includes a 6.5- and 8-coaxial that are bi-ampable. A 10 inch midbass is on the way. New subwoofers are also in the works.

Melissa Hall of Bass Wars competes with the speakers, said Palmer.

Palmer, age 33, started in the car audio competition scene in 2010 and worked at a number of audio shops as well as Crescendo Audio. He helped out at other 12 volt companies over the years “more as friends than an employee.”

Palmer and Stahl decided they could become a supplier in their own right and started working with a factory in China about two years ago. Palmer said he spent evenings tweaking speaker prototypes while he kept his day job at a gun suppler. “It took a full year of back and forth until we got something we were truly proud of.”

Partner Stahl, 32, works for a software company and provides the financial backing and contacts in the boating industry.

The two current F3 coaxials each have a 1.5-inch voice coil for the compression horn and 2-inch voice coil on the woofer. The woofer handles 600 to 800 watts RMS and the horns handle 75 watts RMS conservatively.

The speakers are sold individually at $240 and $265, respectively.

Palmer said the company doesn’t charge a premium for marine grade water resistance so as to keep pricing low with a deep margin for dealers. Soundwise the speakers include a rubber surround and have a deeper midbass for a “fuller, warmer sound, than the typical, super efficient, crazy loud speakers,” he claimed.

Gale Force drop-in Harley speakers are in the works. Palmer said, “Eventually the goal is to quit my day job. This is what I love to do. Audio has been a part of my life for 10 to 15 years.”

Gale Force Audio is sold to both dealers and direct to consumers. The brand is currently working with about 30 dealers.

California unveils new crypto tracker website to combat scams

The California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation launched the Crypto Scam Tracker, a new website designed to help Californians spot and avoid crypto scams. To get more news about crypto exchange scams, you can visit wikifx.com official website.

“Scammers are in the shadows using the public’s interest in crypto assets to take advantage of the most vulnerable Californians,” DFPI Commissioner Clothilde Hewlett said in a statement.

“Through the new Crypto Scam Tracker, combined with rigorous enforcement efforts, the DFPI is committed to shining a light on these ruthless predators and protecting consumers and investors.”Launched on Feb. 16, the tracker is a database searchable by company name, scam type or keywords so Californians can learn more about the complaints the department has received about specific cryptocurrency websites.

The database will be constantly updated to alert the public of new crypto scams, a news release said. When companies or websites (fake or not) have a look- or sound-alike names, the potential confusion created for consumers is real,” the news release said. “Attempting to take advantage of such confusion is a tactic employed by some bad actors looking to profit from unsuspecting consumers.”

For example, the search result for “Coinbase” showed multiple instances where people lost thousands of dollars by investing in fictitious websites that closely resembled the actual coinbase website.

In one instance, one “victim met a person on WeChat who convinced her to invest in cryptocurrency mining. The victim followed the scammer’s instructions to transfer $12,000 to a cryptocurrency exchange and then to the site coinbase.iii36.vip to begin mining,” the website stated.

The “victim tried to withdraw money from her account but was told she needed to wait 24 hours. Soon after, she noticed that all her cryptocurrency had been transferred from her crypto wallet.”

How Blockchain Technology is Changing Real Estate

Given blockchain’s disruption of financial services and subsequent widespread application across industries, it’s hard to find a segment that has not been influenced by the technology. Cryptocurrencies have made a strong impact on payments, remittances, and foreign exchange. Initial coin offerings (ICOs) have challenged stock investing, startup loans, and venture capital. Even the food supply chain industry has been upended by blockchain. To get more news about blockchain field survey, you can visit wikifx.com official website.

Real estate hasn’t escaped blockchain disruption either. Previously, transacting high value assets such as real estate exclusively through digital channels has never been the norm. Real estate transactions are often conducted offline involving face-to-face engagements with various entities. Blockchain, however, opened up ways to change this. The introduction of smart contracts in blockchain platforms now allows assets like real estate to be tokenized and be traded like cryptocurrencies like bitcoin and ether.
1. Platforms and Marketplaces
Real estate technology has traditionally been primarily concerned with listings and with connecting buyers and sellers. However, blockchain introduces new ways to trade real estate and can enable trading platforms and online marketplaces to support real estate transactions more comprehensively. For example, ATLANT has developed a platform that uses blockchain technology to facilitate real estate and rental property transactions. By tokenizing real property, assets can then be traded much like stocks on an exchange and transactions can be done online.

ATLANT allows sellers to tokenize assets, essentially handling it like a stock sale, and liquidating that asset through a token sale using the platform. The collected tokens can be exchanged for fiat currency, with buyers owning a percentage stake of the property.

2. No Intermediaries
Brokers, lawyers, and banks have long been part of the real estate ecosystem. However, blockchain may soon usher in a shift in their roles and participation in real estate transactions, according to a report by Deloitte.
1
New platforms can eventually assume functions such as listings, payments, and legal documentation. Cutting out the intermediaries will result in buyers and sellers getting more out of their money as they save on commissions and fees charged by these intermediaries. This also makes the process much quicker as the back-and-forth between these middlemen gets cut.
3. Liquidity
Real estate has long been considered an illiquid asset since it takes time for sales to conclude. This isn’t the case with cryptocurrencies and tokens since they can, in theory, be readily traded for fiat currencies through exchanges. However, as tokens, real estate can be readily traded. A seller doesn’t have to wait for a buyer who can afford the whole property in order to get some value out of their property.
4. Fractional Ownership
By allowing fractional ownership, blockchain also lowers the barriers to real estate investing. Typically, investments would require significant money upfront in order to acquire property. Alternatively, investors with could also pool their money to acquire bigger ticket properties. Through blockchain, investors would simply have to access a trading app to buy and sell even fractions of tokens as they see fit. In addition, fractional ownership would also help them avoid managing the properties themselves such as maintenance and leasing.
5. Decentralization
Blockchain commands trust and security as a decentralized technology. Information stored in the blockchain is accessible to all peers on the network, making data transparent and immutable. One only has to go back to the housing bubble crash in 2008 to see how greed and the lack of transparency in the part of institutions can have catastrophic consequences. A decentralized exchange has trust built into the system. Since information can be verifiable to peers, buyers and sellers can have more confidence in conducting transactions. Fraud attempts would also be lessened. Smart contracts are increasingly becoming admissible records with Vermont and Arizona passing such legislation. As such, smart contracts would have more enforceability beyond the technology itself.

6. Costs
The transparency associated with a decentralized network can also trim down costs associated with real estate transactions. Beyond the savings made by cutting out intermediaries’ professional fees and commissions, there are other costs such as inspections costs, registration fees, loan fees, and taxes associated with real estate. These costs even vary depending on the territory that has jurisdiction. Like intermediaries, these can be reduced or even eliminated from the equation as platforms automate these processes and make them part of the system.
