Donatella De Vita, Global Director of Training Department, Pirelli Tyre, Italy. SJTU Party Secretary Jiang Sixian, Dean of Graduate School Wang Yaguang, Director of Liberal Arts Department Wu Jiannan and other leaders of relevant departments of SJTU, as well as ACEM Dean Chen Fangruo, Associate Deans Tian Xinmin, Jing Runtian, Wu Wenfeng, Yin Haitao and Liu Shaoxuan and other college leaders participated in the roundtable on the accreditation.During the three-day on-site assessment, the panel had 15 meetings with university and college leaders, members of ACEM Advisory Committee, employers, alumni, representatives of teachers and students, and main leaders of various programs and functional departments of ACEM, focusing on the ten areas, namely ACEM’s development strategy and goals, teaching programs, student development, faculty, academic research, executive training, resource management, level of internationalization, ethics, social responsibility and sustainability, and corporate relations. At the same time, the panel reviewed in detail the accreditation materials presented by ACEM.During the discussions on accreditation, Dean Chen Fangruo introduced to the panel the future development strategy and ideas of the college. Based on the strategy of building a “comprehensive, research-based and international” college, ACEM will create a “business ecosystem” and establish a multiple evaluation system through the industry research platform, thus impelling the business school to return to the origin of the trinity of research, teaching and business practice.
Through comprehensive assessment, the panel agreed that ACEM enjoys a good international reputation, boasts excellent teachers and students, and has achieved fruitful results in its internationalization strategy. At the same time, the panel sang highly of and gave good wishes to a series of reforms carried out by the college, especially the development policy of “be grounded in China’s management practice, promote social and economic development, and improve the world’s management theory”. ACEM, as a leading business school in Asia, is expected to become a world-class business school as soon as possible.Dean Chen Fangruo finally expressed his gratitude to the EQUIS reaccreditation panel for its three-day reaccreditation assessment and its recognition of the development of the college in various areas over the past five years. The college will continue to forge ahead with the valuable suggestions and opinions given by the panel and in combination with our actual work, marching toward the established goal of building a world-class business school.After the assessment, Dean Chen Fangruo and Associate Dean Yin Haitao accompanied the panel to visit Pao Sui-Loong Library, New Upper Hall, Middle Hall, as well as classrooms, laboratories and other teaching hardware and facilities.EQUIS – European Quality Improvement System – is an international quality accreditation system of EFMD for business schools and one of the two most authoritative assessment systems in the world for management education. ACEM obtained its first EQUIS accreditation in 2008 and the five-year EQUIS accreditation of the highest standard in 2014.
